NEET-UG 2026 Cancelled by NTA After Paper Leak; CBI Probe Ordered

The National Testing Agency (NTA) cancelled the NEET-UG 2026 exam that was conducted on 3rd May 2026 after irregularities and paper leaks were reported and investigated. The government also ordered a CBI probe into the matter.

 

Background: Reports indicated that some questions were similar to those circulated before the test, triggering an investigation by Rajasthan Police and central agencies. NTA sent the matter to central agencies on May 8, 2026 for independent verification, following which the decision to cancel was made. Out of 14 major national examinations managed by the NTA, at least 5 have experienced security breaches, paper leaks, or operational failures.
