India Hosts BRICS National Security Advisers Meeting on June 22 and 23 Under 2026 BRICS Chairship - NSA Ajit Doval Chairs the Meeting in New Delhi

India hosted the BRICS National Security Advisers Meeting on June 22 and 23, 2026, in New Delhi under its BRICS Chairship for the year. National Security Adviser Ajit Doval chaired the two-day meeting, which brought together NSAs and senior security officials from Brazil, Russia, China, South Africa, and the expanded BRICS members including Saudi Arabia, UAE, Ethiopia, Egypt, Iran, and Indonesia.

 

The discussions covered geopolitical security, counter-terrorism cooperation, cyber security, and multilateral governance reforms. India used the platform to push for a stronger BRICS position on cross-border terrorism, the ongoing West Asia conflict and its implications for energy security, and the reform of multilateral institutions including the United Nations Security Council. The meeting is part of a series of high-level BRICS engagements India is hosting throughout 2026, building up to the BRICS Summit which India will host later in the year. India's 2026 BRICS theme is "BRICS for Global Good: Building a Resilient, Innovative and Inclusive Order."
