India Hosts 11th BRICS Energy Ministers Meeting in Gurugram on June 25 and 26 Under Theme Sarveshan Urjam or Energy for All

India hosted the 11th BRICS Energy Ministers' Meeting in Gurugram, Haryana on June 25 and 26, 2026, under its BRICS Chairship for the year. Energy Ministers and senior officials from all 11 BRICS member countries attended the meeting. The event is being organised under India's BRICS Chairship 2026, which is guided by the theme "Building for Resilience, Innovation, Cooperation and Sustainability (BRICS)." For the Energy Track, India has adopted the theme "Energy for All," highlighting the collective commitment of member nations to ensuring affordable and universal access to energy.

India's Presidency has structured the BRICS Energy Agenda around three broad priorities: Energy Security and Sustainability, Energy Access and Equity, and Technology and Innovation. Two virtual seminars were also held ahead of the meeting on the themes of "Role of Artificial Intelligence in the Energy Sector" and "Advancements in Carbon Capture, Utilisation and Storage Technologies." As the world's third-largest producer and consumer of electricity, India views secure, affordable, and sustainable energy as a cornerstone of its Viksit Bharat 2047 vision. Over the past decade, India has expanded its solar power capacity by more than 50 times, deployed over 60 million smart meters, and set a target of achieving 410 GWh of energy storage capacity by 2032.

This is India's fourth BRICS Chairship, following its earlier tenures in 2012, 2016, and 2021. The meeting is part of a series of BRICS engagements building up to the full BRICS Summit that India will host in September 2026
