Parliament Monsoon Session 2026 to Begin July 20 and Run Till August 13 with 130th Constitution Amendment Bill and Women's Reservation on Agenda

Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju announced on July 4 that the Monsoon Session 2026 will run from July 20 to August 13 with 19 sittings. President Droupadi Murmu approved the summoning of both Houses on the government's recommendation.

Key bills expected include the 130th Constitution Amendment Bill, 131st Amendment Bill on Women's Reservation, One Nation One Election Bill, FCRA Amendment Bill, Viksit Bharat Shiksha Adhishthan Bill, and Anti-Doping Bill. The 130th Amendment proposes automatic removal of PM, CMs, and Ministers if they remain in judicial custody for 30 consecutive days in serious criminal cases. The JPC examining this bill is expected to adopt its report on July 17 and likely retain this clause with added safeguards.
